History

Transcend Information, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Peter Shu in Taipei. Its first products were “JetMate” laser Printer driver, for producing high quality Chinese Characters, and KeyPro software protection system. The manufacturing started on the first memory product for laser printers in 1989. In the year of 1997 the company was awarded ISO-9001 certification. The Japanese office was opened in Tokyo and the first range of digital still camera memory products launched. 

In 1998 it received the National Award for Small and Medium Enterprises from the Small and Medium Enterprises Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Taiwan R.O.C. in the year of 2006 Transcend opened a state of the art Operations Facility in Shanghai in 2006.
